Faculty members in Teacher Education play a vital role in shaping future educators. In this position, you will design and teach dynamic courses, assess and support student learning, and continually refine your approach through student‑centered, innovative teaching practices. Staying current in the field is essential, as is being available to students through scheduled office hours and crafting an annual professional development plan.
Collaboration is key—faculty work together to build and improve courses, curricula, and academic policies that strengthen the entire program.
This role includes teaching a 15‑credit load each semester and contributing your expertise through service on department, school, campus, and college committees. You’ll also engage in activities that benefit both the college and the broader community. Teaching opportunities span online and in‑person formats across all campuses, with classes that may be scheduled during the day, in the evening, or on weekends.
Successful candidates may teach EDTR courses within the Education Pathway.

Master’s degree in Teacher Education or related field required. Teaching experience at the post‑secondary level preferred. Minimum of 5 years teaching at the PreK‑12 level with diverse populations required. Experience with online learning is required, teaching online experience preferred. Excellent communication skills required. Working knowledge of current legislation and other critical issues in the field of education at all levels is required;
and teacher education in the State of Maryland, including the Associate of Arts in Teaching degree.
