Teacher of Dance

Maternity Cover | Hours during term-time | £35.21 plus £4.25 holiday pay per hour

We have an opportunity for a suitably-qualified and inspirational dance teacher at this leading independent co-educational day and boarding school to run our Dance Sports sessions and one-to-one tuition sessions.

The successful candidate will be required to teach our students a variety of styles such as ballet, tap, contemporary, lyrical, musical theatre, modern, jazz and street (with the possibility of curriculum Dance). The position also includes choreography for and organisation of an annual dance show, plus on an ad hoc basis assisting with choreography for School productions and performances.

Applicants will need to demonstrate at both application and interview, knowledge and skills in dance and choreography skills.

This is a fixed-term position to cover a period of maternity leave. The working hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays during term-time for both Dance Sports Sessions and the one-to-one tuition sessions (approximately 18.5 hours per week). Additional hours are available on an ad hoc basis in co-curricular activities and to support the School productions and performances. There will also be the opportunity to carry out private tuition lessons and to be involved in Dance courses through School holiday periods where available.
