Position: Veterinary Surgeon - large supportive team

Overview

Are you a passionate veterinary surgeon seeking a fulfilling role within a supportive and friendly team? A well-established independent practice in Essex, near the beach, is looking for a dedicated veterinary surgeon to join their dynamic team of 13 vets (7 FTE) with a small branch surgery nearby, offering professional growth and work-life balance.

Facilities and Team

The practice has invested in people, premises and equipment, including specialists in dermatology and soft tissue surgery. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a dental x-ray system, ultrasound, video-endoscopy, digital x-ray, and in-house laboratory equipment. Recent refurbishment and extension include separate cat waiting and consulting rooms to create a stress-free environment for feline patients. As an RCVS accredited nurse training practice, the team comprises 14 nurses (10 registered veterinary nurses), many of whom are home-grown, providing strong inpatient, surgical, and nurse clinic support.

The practice is ISFM and RWAF accredited.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Experienced and surgically competent
  • Ability to independently perform routine neutering, dental treatments, lumpectomies, and diagnostic imaging
  • Keen interest in working up and following through cases to completion or handing over appropriately to colleagues
  • Excellent communication skills with colleagues and clients; client experience and patient care are paramount
