Accounts Assistant

NXTGEN is excited to partner with a well-established accountancy practice in Norwich to recruit an Accounts Assistant into their expanding team. This role offers the chance to work with a diverse client base, develop technical skills, and build a long-term career in a firm that values its people.

• Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships
• Completing VAT returns and assisting clients with day‑to‑day accounting queries
• Preparing bookkeeping records and maintaining accurate financial information using cloud‑based accounting software
• Assisting with corporation tax and personal tax computations
• Supporting senior members of the team with client assignments and ad‑hoc projects
• Developing strong client relationships through regular communication and excellent service
• Keeping up‑to‑date with accounting standards and legislation while continuing your professional development

• Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice
• AAT qualified, studying towards AAT, ACCA or ACA, or qualified through relevant experience
• Good working knowledge of cloud accounting software, including Xero
• A proactive approach with an genuine desire to continue learning and developing within practice
• A team player who enjoys building lasting relationships with both colleagues and clients
