A prestigious and fast-growing accountancy practice in Essex is now looking for a new Semi Senior Accountant to join their team! You’ll work closely with the team to manage a varied portfolio of clients, ensuring they are properly supported with compliance and reporting, while also gaining excellent exposure to a wider range of accountancy services. This would be an ideal role for an ambitious accounts professional who may be AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA or ACA, and who wants to work in a team with an entrepreneurial mindset and excellent support, while gaining valuable experience working with the finance function of a range of clients.

As the new Semi Senior Accountant, you will:
- Produce financial statements, management reports and year-end accounts for a varied portfolio of businesses.
- Prepare VAT submissions, maintain accurate financial records and support clients with day-to-day accounting matters.
- Build strong client relationships by providing practical guidance and responding to financial and bookkeeping enquiries.
- Assist with accounting projects and compliance work, ensuring deadlines are met and work is completed to a high standard.
- Stay current with changes in financial reporting requirements and tax regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
To be the new Semi Senior Accountant, you should have:
- At least two years' experience within a UK accountancy practice, supporting a diverse client portfolio.
- Practical knowledge of preparing financial statements, management accounts and VAT returns.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and maintain high levels of accuracy.
- Confident communicator who enjoys building positive client relationships and delivering excellent service.
- AAT qualified or currently studying towards ACCA/ACA, with experience using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, Quick Books or Sage (advantageous).
