Part-Time Accounts Assistant

Location: Witham Working Pattern: 2 days per week Salary:
15 per hour
Start Date: March 2026 Potential to increase hours over time

This is a temporary role initially with the potential to become permanent.

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Part-Time Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience in accounts or finance administration who enjoys working within a small, supportive team.

You will be responsible for a variety of finance tasks including credit control, sales ledger support, invoice processing and general administrative duties. The ideal candidate will be confident, organised, and able to manage their workload effectively over two dedicated working days.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct credit control activities, including chasing overdue accounts
  • Support sales ledger management, including raising invoices and allocating payments
  • Monitor and manage finance mailboxes, ensuring emails are prioritised and actioned promptly
  • Set up bank payments
  • Match purchase orders to delivery notes
  • Match fuel receipts to invoices
  • Process credit notes
  • Complete bulk processing tasks
  • Identify and follow up on missing invoices
  • Manage petty cash
  • Send customer statements
  • Provide general administrative support to the Finance team as required

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance administration role
  • Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
