Senior Building Surveyor - Salary:
Up to £70,000 + benefits

I’m working with an award-winning consultancy in Essex who are looking to bring in a Senior Building Surveyor. Their recognition isn’t just historic either — they’ve picked up multiple industry awards this year, showing they’re not living off past glories but continuing to raise the bar in the work they deliver.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Building Surveyor who wants more autonomy and the chance to make a real impact. You’ll be trusted to take ownership of projects, develop client relationships, and play a part in mentoring junior colleagues.

The workload is varied — as Senior Building Surveyor, you’ll be involved in:

• Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPMs)
• Contract administration
• Dilapidations
• Section 20 works
• Insurance reinstatement assessments
• General building consultancy instructions

What they’re looking for:

• MRICS-qualified Building Surveyor with at least 3 years’ post-qualification experience
• Broad technical background with proven delivery across commercial and residential projects
• Strong commercial mindset — spotting opportunities, not just delivering projects
• Confidence in building and maintaining client relationships (and ideally bringing some existing contacts)
• Ability to take responsibility for projects and mentor junior surveyors
