Consultant in Urology - Essex Region - Perm/Locum FTC

Triple West Medical are currently seeking an experienced Consultant in Urology for a FTC Locum Consultant for 12 months min, and may consider someone substantive for the right candidate.

The Trust have over 10,000 staff offering comprehensive range of acute and community services over a number of sites to over 1 million people. The NHS Trust wish to continue to build their reputation as well as advancing standards of clinical care that are at the cutting edge of their specialty.

We are looking for a Consultant Urologist confident to carry out general urology duties with additional subspecialty interests to complement the department and experience with stone and laser treatments. Participation in local cancer and endourology MDT meetings will occur weekly.

There are opportunities to develop stone surgery, novel BPH treatments, and endoscopic management of bladder tumours, including TULA, and advanced diagnostics.

The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in professional medical responsibilities and training of the junior medical staff.

Clinical Duties:

• To provide consultant level Urology on call duties (1 in 10). This will include on-site daytime cover and post take ward round
• To provide outpatient clinic service, this may include minor procedures
• To perform independent elective and emergency operating including day case surgery
• To undertake specialty clinics and participate as a core member in Urology MDTs
• Any responsibility which relates to a special interest
• Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff including the observance of local employment and human resource policies and procedures
• Responsibilities for carrying out teaching, examination and accreditation duties as required and contributing to undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education activity, locally and nationally
