We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teacher to join a supportive school in Essex. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by ensuring pupils with special educational needs access a high-quality education tailored to their individual requirements.

As a SEND Teacher, you will plan and deliver differentiated lessons, ensuring learning is engaging, accessible, and inclusive. You’ll work closely with teaching assistants, families, and external professionals to provide holistic support that helps pupils develop both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet a variety of SEND needs

  • Create a nurturing, safe, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Support the personal, social, and academic development of each pupil

  • Work collaboratively with LSAs, SENCO, and external professionals

  • Implement and monitor individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCP targets

  • Assess pupil progress and provide regular feedback to staff and families

  • Use behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment

  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance SEND practice

Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND, ideally in a primary setting

  • Strong understanding of strategies for supporting a range of needs (e.g., Autism, ADHD, SLCN)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

  • Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting children with complex needs

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
