SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary School - Benfleet, Essex

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Benfleet, Essex

Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the school's SENCO to support children with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including those with Autism, ADHD, and Speech & Language difficulties.

• Providing one-to-one and small group support
• Helping to adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
• Supporting the emotional, social, and academic development of pupils
• Working collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals
• Contributing to a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment

• Previous experience working with children with SEN (in school or a similar setting)
• A calm, patient, and positive approach
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
• Relevant qualifications or training in SEN (desirable but not essential)
