Teacher Active is proud to be working with a specialist SEMH secondary school in Maldon, Essex, to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant. The school provides a supportive and nurturing environment where students are encouraged to develop both academically and personally, with a strong focus on wellbeing, inclusion and positive outcomes.

The role is a permanent full‑time position. The successful Teaching Assistant will support students aged 11‑16 with SEMH needs, both within the classroom and through targeted interventions, promoting engagement, positive behaviour and successful learning across the curriculum.

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs, behavioural challenges or additional needs
• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
• Strong behaviour management and de‑escalation skills
• The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with students
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A patient, resilient and proactive approach
