Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?

GSL Education is working in partnership with a 'Good' Ofsted rated primary school on the outskirts of Brentwood to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support a child with additional SEN needs within a Key Stage 1 classroom from September
.

About the Role

This rewarding position involves providing dedicated support to a child with additional needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential within the classroom environment.

Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will play a key role in ensuring the pupil receives the support they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone with SEN experience who is looking to join a supportive school where their contribution will be genuinely valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing tailored support to a child with additional SEN needs in a KS1 classroom
  • Helping the pupil access learning activities and remain engaged throughout the school day
  • Supporting communication, confidence, and independence
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and social interaction
  • Assisting with classroom routines and transitions
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, and support staff
  • Contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN is essential
  • Experience working within a primary school setting is highly desirable
  • A patient, nurturing, and positive approach
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive and adaptable attitude
