Protocol Education are currently recruiting a Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Pupil Referral Unit in Southend. You'll be part of a dedicated team working with students who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the role
  • Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Helping to manage behaviour and encourage engagement in learning
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Working alongside experienced staff in a collaborative environment

  • A positive, resilient and proactive attitude
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs
  • Experience is beneficial but not essential - the right mindset is key
The details
  • Full-time, long-term position
  • Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:30
  • Based in Southend
  • We welcome applicants from:
    Southend, Chelmsford, Basildon, Benfleet, Wickford, Rayleigh, Canvey Island, Billericay, Stanford-le-Hope, Grays and surrounding areas.
