Bright Futures Recruitment is working with a specialist education setting in Essex that is looking for an enthusiastic and practical Forest School & Outdoor Learning Practitioner to join its team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about using Forest School and outdoor learning to engage, motivate and develop children and young people with additional needs.

The successful candidate will deliver and support engaging outdoor learning experiences, practical projects and nature-based activities designed to build pupils’ confidence, independence, resilience and life skills.

The Role

* Deliver and support Forest School and outdoor learning activities

* Plan engaging, practical and nature-based learning experiences

* Use outdoor learning to develop confidence, communication, independence and teamwork

* Support pupils who may find traditional classroom-based learning challenging

* Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation

* Ensure activities are delivered safely and in line with appropriate risk assessments

* Adapt activities to meet different abilities and individual needs

* Work alongside teaching and support staff to contribute to pupils’ individual learning goals

* Help maintain and develop Forest School and outdoor learning areas

What We’re Looking For

Candidates must hold a Level 2 Forest School qualification.

We would particularly like to hear from candidates who:

* Have experience delivering or supporting Forest School or outdoor learning

* Are confident working practically and creatively with children and young people

* Have a genuine interest in working within SEND education

* Are patient, resilient and able to adapt their approach to individual pupils

* Understand the importance of safeguarding and health and safety

* Can engage young people who may struggle within a traditional classroom environment

* Are enthusiastic about working outdoors throughout the year

Previous SEND experience is desirable but not essential. Candidates with relevant Forest School experience and a genuine interest in developing their career within SEND will be considered
