The successful Tutor will support the student for 15 hours per week across Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with sessions taking place after 12:30pm
.
You will work at the student's pace, adapting learning activities to their individual needs, interests and engagement levels. Building trust and creating a positive relationship will be central to the role.
Key responsibilities- Providing one-to-one tutoring and educational support.
- Supporting a student with a PDA profile using a flexible and low-demand approach.
- Building a positive and trusting relationship with the student.
- Adapting lessons and activities to suit the student's individual needs.
- Using creative approaches to encourage engagement with learning.
- Supporting confidence, emotional regulation and independence.
- Working collaboratively with parents/carers and other professionals where appropriate.
- Monitoring and communicating progress.
- Creating a calm, safe and positive learning environment.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience working with children or young people with PDA, autism, ADHD, anxiety or other additional needs
. - Understand the importance of flexibility when supporting a young person with a PDA profile.
- Be patient, calm, empathetic and non-judgemental.
- Be able to adapt their approach and think creatively.
- Have experience in tutoring, teaching, SEN support or a similar role.
- Be reliable and consistent.
- Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Be committed to helping the student develop confidence, independence and a positive experience of education.
Experience supporting a young person with a PDA profile would be highly desirable.
Hours15 hours per week
, worked across:
- Monday - after 12:30pm
- Wednesday - after 12:30pm
- Thursday - after 12:30pm
- Friday - after 12:30pm
The exact daily hours can be discussed with the successful candidate.

To be eligible for this role, the Tutor must:- Hold the right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references.
