Prospero Teaching are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Specialist Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition to a learner in Colchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tutor or teacher who is confident adapting lessons to suit individual needs and can build a positive, supportive relationship with a learner who may have experienced barriers to education. Often the successful candidate would be required to conduct lessons in the young person's home, in local council libraries, youth centres or other locations outside of the mainstream learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Able to conduct baseline assessments.
- Be able to write lesson plans, use relevant resources and adapt to different teaching methods.
- Build confidence and create a positive learning environment.
- Monitor learning progress and provide feedback.
- Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition that has been tailored specifically to the young person.
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
