Job Title: SEN English Teacher

Essex
Job Type: Full-time (5 days a week)
Working Hours: 8:30 am - 4:30pm
Pay: 200- 260 daily
Start Date: After October Half Term
Role Overview:
I am looking for an experienced English Teacher who has extensive SEN and SEMH experience to join an intimate team of teachers within an SEN school in Essex.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people with additional and complex needs. You will help them learn, build confidence and achieve their fullest potential. This is a rewarding role in which you will gain a lot of hands on experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and accessible lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Teach pupils between the ages of 11-18.
- Adapt curriculum content to meet a wide range of additional needs and abilities.
- Create a safe, structured, comfortable and supportive learning environment.
- Build positive, consistent relationships with pupils to support engagement and progress
- Work closely with SEN support staff, therapists and wider school teams.
- Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress in line with school expectations.
- Support positive behavior management across the classroom.
Candidates Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- PGCE or Equivalent training
- Experience in SEN education (Secondary preferred)
- Strong classroom management
- Patient, resilient, adaptable approach
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
