Job DetailsAPEC is seeking a qualified and detail oriented Asbestos Analyst to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting air monitoring, four‑stage clearances, bulk sampling, and asbestos fibre counting in accordance with current regulations and industry standards.
What You Will Do- Conduct air monitoring and fibre counting.
- Perform four stage clearance procedures.
- Carry out smoke tests and visual inspections.
- Collect bulk samples for laboratory analysis.
- Ensure compliance with HSE guidance.
- Produce accurate reports and maintain clear documentation.
- Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and site personnel.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment in line with UKAS standards.
- BOHS P403 & P404 qualified (essential)
- Experienced in asbestos air monitoring and four stage clearance testing
- Knowledgeable in HSG
248 and current UK asbestos legislation - Hold a full UK driving licence
- Professional communicator with strong written and verbal skills
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Additional BOHS modules (P401, P402)
- Experience across domestic, commercial, and industrial sites
- Previous experience within a UKAS accredited laboratory environment
- 35‑hour working week.
- Overtime paid at 1.5x after 35 hours, with a £25 per hour flat rate for weekend work.
- Flexibility with having a car or van, personal use allowed.
- 5% employer pension contribution.
