About the Role

An established and growing property development business is seeking to appoint an experienced and commercially astute Head of Finance. This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to take full ownership of the finance function, support strategic growth initiatives, and shape the financial direction of the business as it enters its next phase of expansion.

You will act as a trusted advisor to the Board and senior leadership team, combining strong technical capability with commercial acumen and the confidence to influence key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end finance function, overseeing financial reporting, management accounts, and statutory compliance.
• Own the P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow, ensuring accuracy, control, and transparency across all financial processes.
• Drive financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, supporting both short- and long‑term business strategy.
• Provide commercial insight to support land acquisition, development appraisals, and investment decisions.
• Manage risk, governance, and financial controls in line with company policy and external regulations.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing finance team, embedding best practice and continuous improvement.
• Partner with operational and development teams to improve profitability, cost control, and performance visibility.

The Person

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a proven track record in senior finance leadership, ideally gained within house building, construction, manufacturing or property development.
