Summary
- This is a 9-12 month contract role with a local authority focused on supporting the development implementation maintenance and continuous improvement of the Councils financial management systems and finance-related projects. The postholder will play a crucial role in leading and supporting system upgrades financial transformation initiatives and process improvements to ensure the Council maintains robust efficient and compliant financial management arrangements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support financial system implementation and upgrade projects.
- Assist with the strategic development of financial management and procurement systems.
- Support the maintenance configuration and ongoing development of financial systems.
- Project manage financial system reviews upgrades testing implementation and post-implementation support.
- Liaise with software providers consultants ICT teams and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of projects.
- Develop project plans monitor progress and report outcomes to senior management.
Requirements:
- Essential Experience Required
- Experience working within a Local Government finance environment.
- Experience supporting or delivering finance systems projects and upgrades.
- Experience using corporate financial management systems.
- Essential Qualifications Required
- Part-qualified or fully qualified Accountant (AAT or equivalent professional qualification).
- Relevant finance accountancy or systems experience.
Additional Information
- Working hours:
37 hours per week with consideration for 3 or 4 days. - The role requires a basic DBS.
- Hybrid working in Brentwood.
- Compensation: 35-40 umbrella.
- Bi-weekly work schedule.
