Finance Manager

As Finance Manager you will lead a centralised management accounts team. This is a key leadership role, responsible for delivering high-quality management reporting, strong financial controls and excellent internal customer service across the business.

You should be a Qualified Accountant with insurance experience, a strong management accounting background and proven people-management capability.

As Finance Manager, you’ll lead a team of management accountants and take ownership of the consistency, quality and timeliness of management accounts and related reporting.

• Line management of a team of Management Accountants, including workload planning, mentoring and performance management
• Oversight of the monthly management accounts for multiple profit centres
• Ensuring all balance sheet reconciliations are completed with full supporting schedules
• Monthly reconciliation of payroll postings to the general ledger
• Supporting the annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes
• Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts and the year-end audit
• Overseeing the timely production of FCA regulatory returns
• Review of client money calculations and related controls
• Supporting accounting work linked to legal entity rationalisation
• Working closely with the Financial Controller, Finance Business Partners and Group Finance to drive change, efficiency and modernisation
• Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and maintaining a “no-surprises” approach to financial reporting

• Previous experience within the insurance industry
• Strong background in management accounting and financial control
• Proven people management and leadership experience
• Ability to communicate clearly, manage deadlines and motivate a team to deliver high-quality outputs
