Position: Maintenance Engineer (Permanent)
Maintenance Engineer - Up to £40,000 + Enhanced Overtime | 4 on / 4 off Shift | Colchester
A long-established, family-run production and distribution company, renowned for delivering high-quality products, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their expanding team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of the factory by resolving breakdowns, improving processes, and delivering both planned and reactive maintenance.
With over 50 years of success, this Colchester-based business operates from a modern, purpose-built site equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and innovative technology, allowing them to remain flexible and responsive to customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

* Carry out planned preventive and reactive maintenance to maximise machinery reliability and minimise downtime

* Ensure mechanical and electrical safety across the site

* Conduct fault-finding and implement preventive measures

* Work in line with food safety standards, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and correctly

* Accurately complete maintenance documentation to audit-ready standards
About You
To be considered for this role, you should have:

* HND/HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering

* Experience with pneumatics, conveyors, motors, and bearings

* Basic electrical knowledge (single and three-phase wiring advantageous)

* Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment
