Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare aircraft components for painting including cleaning, degreasing, sanding, filling, and surface correction.
  • Carry out masking and demasking of complex aircraft assemblies to protect non-painted areas and sensitive systems.

  • Paint structural components such as wings, doors, radomes, and fairings to strict aerospace standards.
  • Ensure correct paint thickness, adhesion, finish quality, and colour matching in line with technical drawings and specifications.
  • Inspect surfaces before and after painting to identify defects such as runs, orange peel, contamination, or uneven coating.
  • Carry out rework, polishing, and touch-ups where required to achieve final quality standards.
  • Maintain compliance with aviation safety procedures, FOD control, and environmental regulations (including hazardous materials handling).
  • Work closely with engineering, quality control, and maintenance teams to ensure correct interpretation of work instructions.
  • Maintain paint shop equipment, tools, and spraying systems in good working condition.
Key Requirements
  • Experience in industrial or aerospace painting, preferably within MRO or aircraft manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of surface preparation and coating systems used in aviation (primers, epoxy, polyurethane, etc.).
  • Ability to follow technical drawings, work instructions, and OEM specifications accurately.
  • Knowledge of masking techniques for complex assemblies and tight tolerance components.
  • Awareness of aviation safety standards, FOD control, and hazardous material handling.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality cosmetic and protective finishes.
  • Ability to work in controlled environments such as paint booths or hangar facilities.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience working on aircraft structures or composite components.
  • Familiarity with aerospace quality systems (e.g., AS9100 environments).
  • Knowledge of corrosion prevention and surface treatment processes.
  • Spray painting certification or vocational training in coatings/finishing.
