Scope of Responsibilities- Works under direct supervision of a pharmacist; follows standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
- May assist in orienting and training employees.
- Assist the professional staff in triaging, processing, and delivery of prescriptions to the patient.
- Assist in the management of the Pharmacy Inventory and Third-Party Receivables.
- Perform duties of Pharmacy Clerk as needed, including running cash register and answering telephones.
- Execute the plan; learn and understand specific aspects of the pharmacy management system and POS system; complete tasks with urgency.
- Quality focused; embrace the importance of Quality Assurance Policy & Procedures and patient care programs.
- Intermediate to advanced understanding of pharmacy technology including product dispensing, data entry, and adjudication workflow.
- Ensure every prescription is checked by a pharmacist prior to dispensing.
- Assist in initial submission and resubmission of all third-party claims.
- Inventory management: proficient in ordering, receiving, freshness, return to stocks, cycle counting.
- Check pharmacy inventory for outdates and process returns.
- Locate prescription files and other manual records from storage as needed.
- Prepare and file manual records for pharmacist signatures and review.
- Integrity/ethical behavior: act with integrity always and comply with HIPAA compliance standards.
- Regulatory & operational compliance: proficient in state and federal regulations and company operational policies.
- Perform all store clerk duties as needed.
- Responsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Professional services: proficient in managing MTM program and other patient-centered professional services.
- Preferred: AS Degree or higher.
- Preferred hospital or retail pharmacy experience.
- PTCB or other nationally recognized certification program.
Required (Vermont Employees only):
Registered with the State of Vermont as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Criminal background check.
- Drug test.
- Initial and continuous exclusion and sanction/disciplinary monitoring.
$16.00 - $19.75 an hour. The final offer will be determined after careful consideration of multiple factors such as relevant skills, years of experience and education.
