Communications Committee Member – Engage Estero

Engage Estero is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonpolitical, volunteer civic advocacy organization. The Communications Committee plays a significant role in achieving our vision by communicating facts and topics of interest and ensuring residents are aware of the issues that could negatively impact our aspirations.

• Contribute to informing residents on topics of interest
• Enjoy the satisfaction of giving back to your community
• Use your work‑related skills to influence and make an impact
• Collaborate with other professionals working within Engage Estero

• Design promotional materials to encourage financial support for the Engage Estero’s 501(c)3 designation
• Encourage residents to voice their opinions and increase engagement through “Call to Action” communications
• Support our articles from local media (The Press, local TV, and radio)
• Develop ideas for social media expansion
• Author articles
• Consider how to use video clips to draw attention to Engage Estero’s various councils (Environment; Culture & Recreation; Healthcare; Education; Safety and Transportation)
• Report on Engage Estero’s monthly meetings
• Act on the strategic plans of the communications team
  • Enhancing our reach to the growing younger demographic
  • Improving the quality of our communications
  • Ensuring Engage Estero’s members appreciate the achievements and purpose of Engage Estero

• Good writing and communication skills
• Experience in using social media or other forms of media to extend our communications reach
• Experience in advertising, media, journalism, marketing
• A desire to get involved in communications activities
