Sales Associate Job Description

Sales Floor Responsibilities
  • Understand organizational objectives and make decisions that align with company priorities.
  • Take ownership and remain committed to delivering results while actively monitoring personal and store metrics.
  • Create short- and long-term personal clienteling strategies in partnership with management.
  • Represent Coach as a brand ambassador and demonstrate Coach’s selling and service expectations at all times.
  • Understand local market changes with potential impact on business performance and support the execution of local sales strategies and tactics.
  • Drive business through sales strategies, clienteling, sourcing new customers, and maintaining ongoing productive relationships.
  • Build credibility and trust as a personal fashion advisor by communicating fashion awareness and strong knowledge of competition.
  • Provide in-depth product knowledge, current pricing, and promotional strategy to customers.
  • Cross-sell and encourage beneficial add-ons that relate to the customer’s shopping needs.
  • Attend to the unique shopping needs of each customer and flex personal selling techniques to contribute to overall store financial results.
  • Leverage Coach’s tools and technology to support relationship building and clienteling efforts.
  • Promote and endorse a team selling environment and maintain a calm and professional demeanor at all times.
Operations Responsibilities
  • Ensure all daily tasks are completed without negatively impacting service or Coach standards.
  • Complete daily operational tasks including maintaining store sales floor, backroom, cash wrap, and visual merchandising consistently and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy selling floor and adhere to all applicable retail policies and procedures.
  • Replenish inventory on sales floor as needed and support the store inventory process by processing shipment, stocking shelves, and maintaining strong organizational standards.
  • Process customer transactions efficiently and prepare the store by organizing functional areas and performing routine cleaning.

Additional Requirements
  • Experience – 1‑3 years of previous sales experience, preferably in a luxury retail service environment; current knowledge of fashion trends and competition in the marketplace.
  • Education – High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Technical – Knowledge of cash register systems, basic computer skills (iPad/laptop, Mobile POS, Internet), walkie‑talkie, price and product release sheets.
  • Physical – Ability to execute at a fast pace, communicate effectively, maneuver the sales floor, ladders, bending, kneeling, lift and carry up to 25 pounds, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds for product shipment/transfers.
  • Schedule – Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and high retail traffic days including special holidays such as Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, Christmas Eve, and Mother’s Day.
