Parks Labourer; Temporary

Summary

Duties

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Performs maintenance, including mowing using hand and riding mowers, tree pruning, weed whipping, roto tilling, watering plants, and completes quality control inspections on parks, green spaces, and municipal facilities, including sports venues and beautification assets.

• Schedules and performs required preventative maintenance on recreational assets.

• Works with the Park Foreperson to co-ordinate and/or carry out capital projects or maintenance of capital projects.

• Cleans and maintains required equipment, shop, and tools.

• Perform labour on other Parks projects.

• Promotes and maintains positive public relations.

• Performing all duties in a safety conscious manner.

Education

• Grade 12 or GED equivalent

• First Aid & CPR “C” Level

• WHMIS

• Valid Class 5 Drivers License

Experience and Additional Requirements

• Must be available weekends, holidays and nights as required.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

This position receives an hourly wage of $, as per 2026 CUPE rates.
