This role offers after-hours emergency support, focusing on advocacy and community relationships.
The Ministry is looking for dedicated individuals to fill Term Emergency Duty Worker positions. You'll provide critical services after hours while fostering relationships with clients and community agencies. This position prioritizes understanding of cultural values, especially First Nations and Métis, as well as the social issues families face.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build open, honest relationships with families and colleagues
• Integrate multicultural perspectives in service delivery
• Identify and address poverty and systemic barriers
• Advocate for clients' access to resources and services
• Encourage family well-being and independence
Requirements:
• Experience with First Nations and Métis communities
• Ability to recognize socioeconomic challenges
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexibility to work on-call with varied hours
• Background in social services or similar fields
