Enjoy working with youth and helping create a place where they feel welcome? EPYC is looking for part-time Youth Drop-In Coordinators to join our team.

Pay: $23 per hour

Hours:

Scheduled shifts during Thursday, Friday and Saturday drop-in sessions, 610 p.m., plus paid staff meetings and training.

About the role:

You will work on-site during our youth drop-in sessions. Youll welcome youth, provide active supervision, build positive relationships and lead activities based on participants interests and programming direction from the center's Executive Director.

Were looking for someone who can connect with youth while providing clear, consistent guidance and keeping the centre safe and welcoming.

What youll do:
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive environment where youth feel comfortable.
  • Engage youth in games, recreation, creative activities and conversation.
  • Encourage participation while respecting that youth choose how they take part.
  • Help youth understand and follow centre expectations, stepping in when needed and following through fairly and consistently.
  • Respond calmly and respectfully to conflicts or challenging behaviour.
  • Help with setup, cleanup and opening and closing procedures.
  • Record attendance and communicate concerns to the Executive Director.
What were looking for
  • Someone reliable, approachable and comfortable working with youth.
  • A friendly, confident approach with the ability to set clear boundaries and reinforce centre rules.
  • Good judgment and the confidence to address concerns when they arise.
  • Experience with youth through employment, volunteering, coaching or community involvement.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

    Availability for evening shifts on our rotating schedule.
  • Relevant education or training is an asset.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is preferred, or a willingness to obtain it. Successful applicants will be required to complete appropriate background screening.
