Job description

Hire Art is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire a Technical Service Data Engineer to translate complex engineering specifications and 3D CAD data into precise repair procedures within ERP systems.
In this role, you’ll act as a bridge between design engineering and the shop floor, ensuring that critical assembly data, such as torque values, joint IDs, and part relationships, is accurately captured and maintained throughout the engineering change lifecycle.

The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical understanding with systems expertise and a high level of attention to detail.

As a Technical Service Data Engineer, you'll:
  • Build and maintain detailed repair task lists within ERP systems, including part numbers, joint IDs, torque values, and assembly sequences.
  • Navigate complex 3D CAD assemblies (e.g., CATIA) to identify components and determine repair requirements, including dependent disassembly steps.
  • Serve as the data owner for engineering change orders (ECOs), assessing impacts and updating ERP data to reflect design changes.
  • Translate complex engineering specifications into clear, structured repair procedures for shop floor execution.
  • Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, electrical engineering, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in a technical role within repair & overhaul (MRO) or heavy manufacturing environments
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), including task lists, routings, or bill of materials (BOM) management
  • Advanced proficiency in CATIA V5/V6, 3

DEXPERIENCE, or similar PLM tools for assembly navigation and data extraction
  • Strong understanding of repair operations and real-world workshop constraints (e.g., tool access, safety, fastener behavior)
  • Ability to analyze engineering change orders and determine downstream impacts across multiple systems or workflows
  • Hands-on experience in repair or overhaul environments
  • Exceptional attention to detail, especially when managing critical data such as torque values and joint IDs
  • Benefits:
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Employer (Hire Art) subsidized healthcare benefits (eligibility begins on the first of the month following 60 days of service)
  • Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
  • Hire Art covers all costs for short- and long-term disability and life insurance
  • 401k package
  • Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via Hire Art. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the Austin, TX area.

Hire Art values diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor visas or employ corp-to-corp.
