Operations Co-op

This is a 4 or 8-month internship and is based out of our Hellmanns factory in Rexdale, Ontario (195 Belfield Rd, Etobicoke, ON, M9W 1G8).

Who You Are & What You'll Do

  • Work with Operations and Continuous Improvement teams to create machine autonomous maintenance standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Create and maintain technical training materials and documentation for factory processes
  • Provide support to the Logistics team through various transactional and operational activities
  • Support waste elimination and factory loss reduction using Lean and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data to support root cause analysis and problem solving
  • Develop troubleshooting capabilities on process and packaging equipment
    , and use engineering skills to map and understand processes
  • Create and establish technical standards and standardized work to ensure process stability and sustained performance
  • The purpose of the Intern Program is to introduce you to Unilever through a challenging and rewarding experience, which offers you the opportunity to lead a project and build your knowledge

    During your 4 or 8-month internship, you will develop your leadership style and strengthen your analytical skills

    What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • 3rd or 4th year Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Student
  • Can Work with minimal supervision and an initiator
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Related experience in a technical / manufacturing environment is an asset but not required.
  • Able to contribute to a team-oriented environment and possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Safety and quality minded
  • General Considerations:

  • During this internship you will work on site at our Hellmann’s factory at 195 Belfield Rd, Etobicoke, ON, M9W 1G8
  • You will need to be able to work full time – from Monday to Friday during this internship.
  • Salary rate is defined based on complete years of University studies and goes from CAD $22 per hour for Freshman year completed and goes up by year up to, CAD $33 per hour for master’s degree students.
