Job Description
What is the opportunity?
We are seeking a motivated university student to join our Operational Risk Shared Services team as a Data Analyst. The role focuses on leveraging data-driven insights to solve complex business challenges and foster a collaborative, learning‑centric environment.
What will you do?- Data Collection and Preparation :
Assist in gathering, cleaning, profiling, and transforming data from various sources to ensure data integrity and readiness for analysis. - Data Analysis and Visualization :
Use Python (Pandas, Num Py, Plotly, Matplotlib) and/or Tableau to analyze large datasets and generate meaningful insights. - Automation and Scripting :
Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate data processing tasks, streamline workflows, and improve efficiency. - Data Quality :
Support data quality checks and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data used in analysis. - Collaboration :
Work closely with cross‑functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver data‑driven solutions that align with departmental goals.
- Currently enrolled at a Canadian post‑secondary institution focused on computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or statistics (preferably third year or master’s studies).
- Advanced programming skills in Python and R, including Pandas, Num Py, Plotly, Matplotlib, Seaborn.
- Experience with data transformation and manipulation.
- Experience with diagnostic data analytics.
- Understanding of relational databases (SQL), Hadoop ecosystem, and data visualization tools.
- Ability to perform complex data analysis.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities with keen attention to detail and a passion for data‑driven decision making.
- Proficiency in building statistical and algorithmic models with large datasets (e.g., supervised learning, clustering, NLP, recommendation systems, time‑series analysis, A/B testing).
- Knowledge of analytics technologies, architecture, data warehouse concepts, and methodologies.
- Experience with relational database design.

This posting is for an 8‑month Fall
2026 student placement, starting September
2026 and ending April
2027. Eligible candidates must:
- Return to school after the work term ends (April
2027). - Or, if graduating in April
2027, require the full 8‑month term as a mandatory component to graduate.
Applicants must meet these eligibility requirements before applying; candidates who are found ineligible will not be considered.
The successful candidate will be located within Ontario for the duration of the work term and may work flexibly in virtual, hybrid, or in‑office arrangements as discussed with the hiring manager.
