We are seeking a highly motivated Fall Intern to join our team and contribute to transformation projects advancing RBC’s risk management practices and capabilities. This role offers an opportunity to support the business development of real-world AI applications, directly impacting risk management workflows. You will collaborate with business stakeholders and technologists on projects that drive efficiency, automation, and strategic business value, playing a key role in shaping RBC’s AI-driven innovation.
Whatwill you do?
- Focus on supporting the development of real-world applications that address business challenges and drive advanced risk management decisions.
- Work closely with business users to understand their needs, translate business use cases into practical technical problems, and iterate solutions based on stakeholder feedback.
- Participate in key aspects of the end-to-end development cycle of high-impact AI solutions, from idea design and PoC to production deployment.
- Conduct user research, analyze business and technical requirements, and track and report on project progress.
- Design executive presentations, develop strategies and create communications for your project.
- Continuously learn and keep up with the latest advancements in AI and related technologies as well as corresponding regulatory or business requirements, sharing knowledge with the team.
- Engage your critical thinking, time management and leadership skills within your team.
Must-have
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technological advancements and key concepts related to AI (Gen AI, Machine Learning, etc.) and emerging technologies.
- Ability to understand and effectively communicate business value.
- Excellent interpersonal and advanced communication skills (verbal and written).
- Excellent critical thinking, time management and leadership skills.
- Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to challenge the status quo and think outside the box to develop solutions.

- Experience with project management and business presentations.
- A master’s degree or higher in business administration, commerce, computer science, engineering, statistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and working with end users and clients to understand their needs.
- Experience with user research, prototyping, wire framing, and/or experience mapping (creating journey maps, personas, and service blueprints).
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Solid understanding of financial business insights, Fin Tech industry, startup industry or other related insights.
- Interest and understanding of up-and-coming technology and methodologies.
- Experience working in regulated or governed environments.
- Familiarity with financial and non-financial risk management concepts.
