Position: Machine Operator – Plastic Film & Bag Converting (Plastic And Paper)
Job Title-Converting Machine Operator Location-Etobicoke, ON Are you mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and experienced in a manufacturing environment? We’re hiring a Converting Machine Operator to join our production team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for running converting machinery, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality output.
Key Responsibilities:Set up, operate, and monitor converting machines during production runsSetting up and operating Slitter, laminating and converting bag machines.Adjust and monitor machine settings such as heat, speed, and tension for optimal performanceOperators load converting machines with roll stock of film (plastic). The operator sets up the machines to the customer's specification and the converting bag machine forms the bag.Perform in-process and final quality inspections to ensure product accuracyMaintain accurate records of materials, production, and quality checksConduct r
outine maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issuesKeep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standardsFollow all company safety protocols and wear appropriate PPEAssist in training machine assistants and new operatorsCollaborate with supervisors, maintenance, and quality control teamsPerform other production-related tasks as neededWhat You Bring:Minimum 2-year product (plastics) or industry specific (converting) machine experience is highly preferred
Minimum 2-year manufacturing experience is requiredExperience working with plastic or film materials is a plusHigh school diploma/GED preferredMechanical aptitude and ability to follow detailed work instructionsStrong attention to detail, quality focus, and good problem-solving skillsDependable,
proactive, and able to work independently or with a teamAbility to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periodsWillingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced environmentWork Environment:
Manufacturing floor environment with noise, dust, and temperature variationsRequires working with industrial equipment and wearing PPE (steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection)May require machine certification depending on equipment usedWhy Work With Us?
