, on behalf of one of our valued clients, is currently hiring a skilled and dependable Turret Press Set-Up Operator to join a well-established metal fabrication team in Etobicoke, ON
. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong experience in turret press setup and operation.
Position Overview
The Turret Press Set-Up Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting CNC turret presses to fabricate metal components according to engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with turret press machines, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC turret presses according to job specifications and production schedules
- Load and align punch tools, dies, and materials to ensure accurate cutting and forming
- Perform first-off inspections and make adjustments as required to meet part tolerances
- Monitor ongoing production for quality, accuracy, and efficiency
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings
- Troubleshoot minor machine and tooling issues and perform basic maintenance as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience operating and setting up CNC turret presses (e.g., Amada, Trumpf, Strippit)
- Proficient in reading blueprints and using measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
- Strong understanding of various metals, tooling configurations, and fabrication techniques
- Excellent mechanical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs
