Goodwill is hiring. We are looking for people who want to contribute to the mission by supporting the donated goods retail business and promoting environmental sustainability through reuse and recycling of donated goods.

This position requires a valid driver’s license and a reliable insured vehicle. The successful candidate must provide proof of driver’s license and proof of car insurance upon hire.

What You Will Do
  • Ensure 100% donor and customer service satisfaction.
  • Model the Customer Care Cycle (I Care) consistently in all interactions and mentor the team.
  • Assist in scheduling employees while maintaining budgeted wage to sales ratios.
  • Assist in the management of the donated goods retail business in accordance with our river system business model, guiding principles, organizational goals, procedures and policies.
  • Train, develop and supervise team members.
  • Prepare time and attendance reports.
  • Assist the Manager in day-to-day operations of the store and donation centre.
  • Assist the Store Manager in complying with organizational image, security and safety practices.
  • In the absence of the manager, assume full responsibility for day-to-day operations of the community store and donation centre.
  • Complete register readings, cash reports, daily deposits, paid outs, expense and WESA reports.
  • Make decisions within the framework of our Guiding Principles and River system business model.
  • Support the Goodwill mission through assessments, training, and community partnerships.
  • Ensure accurate and timely statistical counts (donor counts, apparel hung, rotation count, etc.).
  • Stay current on product knowledge, industry trends and pricing through competitor comparison.
  • Support, lead, direct and comply with the Goodwill Health and Safety program and applicable legislation.
  • Perform other related activities as necessary or assigned.
What We Are Looking For
  • Communication in a diverse setting (written, verbal).
  • Customer service and donor engagement skills.
  • Process and people management with team building ability.
  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, email).
  • Experience in managing processes and people management.
  • Health and safety, loss prevention experience.
  • Budgeting, scheduling, profit and loss awareness.
  • Leadership, accountability, strategic thinking, coaching and development.
  • Ability to hold people accountable and drive results; change management experience.
  • Post-secondary education is an asset.
  • 1–3 years of experience managing people and processes simultaneously.
  • Health and safety experience is an asset.
  • Satisfactory criminal reference check - vulnerable persons check.
