Responsibilities
  • Lead instruction for Elementary School students with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), designing dynamic learning experiences
  • Deliver targeted instruction using innovative curriculum resources and educational software
  • Create comprehensive lesson plans and schedules tailored to each student’s physical, emotional, and educational needs
  • Establish an inclusive, collaborative environment involving students, parents, colleagues, and administrators
  • Build classroom climate on mutual respect, fairness, and clear expectations; model Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
  • Implement and reinforce PBIS strategies, behavior expectations, reward systems, and appropriate consequences
  • Track and document student progress, maintain accurate files, and generate reports of achievements and activities
  • Deliver differentiated instruction individually or in a co‑teaching environment to meet IEP‑specified goals
  • Adapt curricular content and instructional approaches to diverse learning styles; guide staff on differentiation methods
  • Utilize varied instructional methods, resources, and software to support diverse student needs and interests
  • Manage caseload responsibilities, including developing and implementing IEPs, goals, and interventions
  • Prepare detailed daily lesson plans and organize materials aligned with standards and student objectives
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming classroom environment; manage supplies and resources effectively
  • Stay informed on current research‑based instructional practices, trends, and developments in special education
  • Respond constructively to feedback from formal evaluations and informal observations; pursue professional growth
  • Support the school community by performing additional duties as assigned
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, special education, or a closely related field
  • Licensed or in the process of obtaining one or more OH state teaching credentials
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company‑approved crisis management training
  • Prior experience with curriculum development, differentiation, and instruction, preferably in an alternative, special education, and/or behavioral health setting
  • Prior experience and/or knowledge in special education services and compliance, especially for students with learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, autism spectrum disorders, and related disabilities
