As a Sr. Metallurgical Engineer, you will drive the design, optimization, and quality control of rare earth metallization and alloying processes. You will ensure materials meet demanding performance standards across defense, energy, and industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and optimize metallization, reduction, and alloying processes.
- Characterize and improve properties of rare earth metals and alloys.
- Support scale-up from lab to full production.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent material quality.
- Conduct root cause analyses of metallurgical defects and failures.
- Support customer qualification and technical documentation.
- BS/MS in Metallurgical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering (PhD preferred).
- 5+ years in metallurgical processing, preferably rare earths or specialty alloys.
- Strong background in thermodynamics, solidification, and microstructure control.
- Hands-on experience with metallurgical testing and analysis methods.
