Position Summary

Novogradac & Company LLP is searching for a Senior Accountant to join our fast‑growing firm. The Senior Accountant will manage a variety of tax, audit and other assignments as designated by the Manager. At this level, the Senior Accountant should function with minimal supervision and focus on supervising and mentoring staff, independent problem solving, strengthening client relationships and increasing team profitability.

Some positions may be open to remote or hybrid work arrangements depending on business needs.

Contributions & Responsibilities
  • Complete tax and/or audit projects for designated clients with minimal oversight.
  • Conduct thorough engagement reviews and recognize potential problem areas, proposing effective solutions.
  • Accept increasing responsibility for engagement management and manage time efficiently to increase profitability.
  • Research business‑specific data, compile reports and make recommendations.
  • Develop, strengthen and maintain effective client relationships through professionalism and service‑oriented approach.
  • Supervise and mentor Staff Accountants.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned, including work toward obtaining a CPA license if not already obtained.

  • Ability to accept constructive feedback, adjust as directed and collaborate in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and report‑writing tools.
  • Professional demeanor with coworkers and clients; meet internal firm deadlines (time entry, billing, etc.).
  • Available to work evenings and weekends as needed and willing to travel domestically if required.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance (advanced degree a plus), and 3–5 years of experience in public accounting. Ability to sit for the CPA exam or passed section of the CPA. CPA license a plus. Experience with affordable housing, low‑income housing tax credits, opportunity zones, renewable energy tax credits, historic tax credits, HUD, new markets tax credits, real estate, developers, partnerships, housing authority, public housing authority, community development financial institutions, single audit, uniform guidance, A‑133, forecasting, cost segregation, year‑15 exit, tax‑exempt bond and HOME programs is helpful but not mandatory.
