JOB SUMMARY:
This part-time position performs high volume, precision editing for a variety of content distribution platforms – on-air, online and mobile.
SPECIFIC
JOB DUTIES:
Editing in both linear and nonlinear formats
Working closely with reporters, producers, assignment editors and anchors to produce high quality stories
Maintaining assigned equipment and associated ENG gear
Working with the News Director and engineering to ensure the timely repair and maintenance of equipment
Maintaining a current understanding of all issues and news occurring in primary coverage area as well as the state, nation and the world
Other duties as assigned by the Assistant News Director, News Director or the station General Manager
SKILLS REQUIRED/
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to perform effectively under extreme deadline pressure
Excellent interpersonal skills; a “team player”
Ability to work shifts as assigned including weekends, weeknights, overnights and holidays as needed
College degree in journalism or related discipline preferred and completion of at least one internship in a broadcast television newsroom preferred
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift and carry up (approx. 50 pounds).
Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license
