Department SummaryThe HEDCO Institute is a research and outreach unit within the University of Oregon (UO) College of Education (COE), which aims to close the gap between educational research and practice. The HEDCO Institute’s core mechanism for improving practice is through the conduct of authoritative rapid evidence reviews and research syntheses that meet the immediate decision‑making demands of local, state, and national school leaders.
The work of the HEDCO Institute is carried out by a team of faculty and staff who work collaboratively with affiliated faculty at the UO and an external advisory board comprised of research and policy partner institutions, school leadership organizations, professional societies, foundations, and business and industry partners. The HEDCO Institute also provides research and outreach training and experience to students from across the COE and the UO.

The College of Education (COE) is home to three academic departments, 16 academic degree programs, 14 research and outreach units, the HEDCO Institute, and the HEDCO Clinic. All academic departments house both graduate and undergraduate programs addressing the full range of issues present in educational and social systems. Our tenure and career non‑tenure track faculty in each department are devoted to inspiring and mentoring the approximately 1,500 undergraduate and graduate students in the COE who will be the next generation of educational and social science leaders.
The COE has a long record of developing widely adopted, evidence‑based assessments and interventions used in both clinical settings and in school programs that serve millions of children in thousands of schools across the country and the world. Remote/Hybrid Postdoc Opportunity—join us as a Post‑Doctoral Scholar at the HEDCO Institute for Evidence‑Based Educational Practice in the College of Education at the University of Oregon!
The HEDCO Institute specializes in the conduct of evidence syntheses that meet the immediate decision‑making demands of local, state, and national school leaders. Our work is carried out by a team of faculty and staff who work collaboratively with affiliated faculty at the UO and an external advisory board. The HEDCO Institute also provides research and outreach training and experience to students from across the COE and the UO.
We are looking for a new Post‑Doctoral Scholar to join our team and contribute to our work, aiming to close the gap between educational research and practice. The postdoc will work with HEDCO Institute faculty on creating, maintaining, and disseminating living systematic reviews on school‑based mental health prevention. Principal responsibilities include organizing and analyzing evidence synthesis data, participating in knowledge mobilization activities, collaborating with members from the larger institute team, participating in project meetings and conference calls, and working closely with institute faculty and other team members to achieve institute goals.
