Department SummaryThe Department of Economics at the University of Oregon, part of the Social Sciences division of the College of Arts and Sciences, is a highly accomplished community of teachers and scholars. Economics is a comprehensive social science discipline that teaches students to critically analyze the world around them, applying economic theories and mathematical approaches to societal questions. The UO Economics major is STEM designated.
The Department offers a BA/BS undergraduate program, an Accelerated Masters Program, and graduate degrees including Master’s and PhD. Our Master's program prepares students for careers in consulting, research, policy analysis, and data science, and provides a foundation for pursuing a PhD. The PhD program prepares students for academia, government, international organizations, research, or private industry consulting. Our low student/faculty ratio fosters high-quality research and teaching skills.

Position SummaryThe department is creating a pool of applicants for temporary teaching appointments of one or more terms. Positions may be part-time, limited duration not exceeding one year, with potential renewal up to three years based on need, funding, and performance.
Minimum Requirements- Master's in Economics or related field.
- Ph.D in Economics or related field.
- Teaching experience in Economics or related field.
