To provide high‑quality instruction to students taking Drafting courses in alignment with the college’s core mission and division values.
Essential Functions- Teach Drafting courses in traditional and online formats.
- Create and revise course content, syllabi, and materials.
- Maintain accurate student records, grading, and attendance.
- Participate collegially in faculty evaluation processes.
- Support student learning through office hours, meetings, and timely feedback.
- Ensure compliance with College policies, FERPA, and Section 508 standards.
- Continuously update instructional skills and draft‑related knowledge.
- Engage in the online course environment, ensuring regular substantive interaction.
- Monitor progress, coach struggling students, and provide timely feedback.
- Review and grade all work, responding promptly to inquiries.
- Demonstrate commitment to social justice and inclusive practices in all interactions.
- Support ADA compliance and provide accessible learning environments.
- Required
Education:
Associate Degree or higher in Drafting or a related field. - Required Experience:
Recent (within five years) work in drafting, design, education, or equivalent. - Licensure/Certification:
None specified.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Education, or related field. - Experience:
Teaching or training in formal or online environments; drafting, surveying, design, or engineering experience; mechanical, architectural, or structural drafting expertise. - Software:
AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, Solid Works, Vectorworks, Adobe Illustrator.
- Instructional design and learning theory knowledge.
- Analytical thinking, teamwork, service mindset, process improvement.
- Ability to communicate with diverse student populations.
Indoor teaching with typical office conditions. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods; cognitive work for more than six hours daily; may transport materials up to 25 pounds safely.
