This is an application pool posting for the 2025–2026 academic year. The assigned location for this position is the main campus in Eugene, Oregon.

Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Teach interactive Culinary curriculum and lesson plans across in‑person, online, remote, and hybrid formats.
  • Apply clear and comprehensive tools to assess student performance and proficiency.
  • Instruct students in preparing a wide variety of dishes, including pastas, seafood, casseroles, and modern recipes.
  • Maintain safe handling and correct temperatures of all food products.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in all work areas.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, sanitation, and health and safety standards.
  • Check, report, and troubleshoot equipment and devices used for class.
  • Support student learning through activities such as office hours, grading, feedback, and responsive communication.
  • Create, develop, and revise course content and materials, including syllabi and assessments aligned with core outcomes.
  • Integrate college values into the curriculum and promote a respectful learning environment, including awareness of multicultural and diversity issues.
  • Engage students online to ensure regular and substantive interaction (RSI) and provide coaching to struggling students.
  • Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to privacy needs of students under FERPA standards.
  • Collaborate with peers and participate in faculty performance evaluation and collegial activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Five (5) years as Head Chef or Executive Chef.
  • At least one (1) year in teaching, training, or instruction.

Preferred Education

  • US or foreign equivalent of a Culinary Arts degree.
  • American Culinary Federation (ACF) Certified Working Chef/Pastry Chef.
  • Serv Safe Managers Certification or equivalent.

Preferred Experience

  • Recent college or high school teaching experience.
  • Teaching in culinary arts or baking and pastry at the college or secondary level.
  • Experience building and designing curriculum both online and in person.
  • Experience working with diverse, high‑barrier populations.
  • Versed in large scratch baked goods production.
  • Versed in large scratch recipes and cooked‑to‑order line production.
  • Experience in kitchens featuring contemporary American cuisine.
