RoleOptimization Field Service Technician
Responsibilities- Install, service, and upgrade optimization scanning systems for sawmills, planermills, plywood, and OSB equipment.
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on electronic and software-based systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Work directly with customers, engineers, and project managers to understand and resolve equipment or system concerns.
- Conduct regular site visits to maintain and enhance system performance.
- Ensure all equipment meets quality and safety standards.
- Provide remote support and guidance as needed.
- Maintain detailed service documentation and reports.
- Work irregular hours and overtime as required.
- Diploma, degree, or trade qualification in electronics, software, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience troubleshooting electronic systems; familiarity with industrial equipment in wood processing is a plus.
- Knowledge of Windows OS, TCP/IP networking, and hardware/software applications.
- Machine vision, AI, x-ray, or PLC knowledge preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout North America and internationally.
- Must be able to cross international borders without restrictions.
- Position range of pay: $25.00 to $32.00 per hour.
