1. Appointment Type and Duration:
Regular, Ongoing. Salary: $22.47 - $36.59 per hour. FTE: 1.0. Review of Applications Begins January 13, 2026; position open until filled.
We are seeking a candidate to support information, data, systems administration and networking needs for Finance and Administration Shared Services IT, primarily serving the University of Oregon Police Department (UOPD), Utilities & Energy (UE), and FASS IT. The OSNA will work as part of a team and may coordinate internal and 3rd-party resources on projects or problem resolution.
Responsibilities- Assist in the maintenance of systems, applications and local area networks across multiple campus locations.
- Provision and maintain servers, workstations, and mobile devices; install and configure software.
- Provide formal training for new hardware and software; contact vendors for information; prepare proposals and technical reports for new computer system acquisitions.
- Provide technical support and assistance for a wide variety of systems.
- Participate in formal and informal procurement decision-making activity with financial implications; follow guidelines and standards developed by FASS IT, University Information Systems, Utilities & Energy, UOPD, and Oregon DPSST.
- Coordinate work of internal and 3rd-party resources when necessary, without direct budget authority.
- Remain current with new software and hardware technologies; report to the Director of FASS IT; work is reviewed regularly by the Director and the FASS IT team lead.
Typical daytime hours with occasional after-hours and weekends. On-call rotation within FASS IT (24/7). On-site response to campus emergencies within 60 minutes when needed; communication via cellular phone.
Minimum RequirementsThis classification requires a basic foundation of knowledge in operating systems, maintenance, systems administration, and network systems, typically obtained through a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, telecommunications, or a related technical field, or equivalent technical training and/or experience.
Special Requirements: Candidates must meet the following requirements to advance:
- Must successfully pass an in-depth law enforcement background check.
- Must submit fingerprints to obtain FBI Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) security clearance.
- Must complete and maintain Law Enforcement Data Systems (LEDS) certification.
- Must complete and maintain Level 4 CJIS Security Awareness Training.
- Ability to perform duties in a way that advances and supports the mission of the department and university.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment and build relationships for problem solving and positive interactions.
- Ability to take initiative and identify what needs to be done.
- Attention to detail and safety awareness in the workplace.
- Respectful workplace conduct and proactive attitude; model the highest ethical standards.
- Proficiency in providing superior customer service.
- Association degree or higher preferred if using equivalent experience to meet minimum qualifications.
- One year of experience in computer technology.
- Experience with Building Automation Systems software and devices.
- Experience with relational database design and systems administration concepts in production.
- Experience creating and maintaining code in Windows or Linux scripting languages.
- System administration experience in a large enterprise environment.
- Experience managing Operational and Data Warehouse databases.
- Project management experience; ability to communicate complex technical issues to non-technical users.
