Responsibilities
  • Join Baker Tilly as a Tax Manager. Deliver tax and business advisory services and tax compliance to small business clients.
  • Work side-by-side with firm leadership to serve clients and build the business, with a direct impact on the firm’s success.
  • coach to a group of staff, developing their technical and professional skills.
  • Lead and plan client engagements, evaluating processes and procedures to implement efficiencies and identify internal control issues.
  • Provide recommendations for business and process improvements based on clients’ operations and objectives.
  • Manage and build client relationships, address client issues, and assist team leaders in researching and providing additional services.
  • Effectively delegate work, set goals and deadlines, and ensure delivery meets client expectations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of local, state, and federal tax practices and laws.
  • Assist with managing client engagement staffing, billing/collections, and profitability targets.
  • Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build relationships with clients and the community.
  • Invest in professional development through firm-wide programs and independent learning.
  • Support the growth and development of team members through Baker Tilly’s Care and Teach philosophy.
  • Participate in engagements that encourage work-life balance and professional growth.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting; master's or advanced degree desirable
  • CPA or JD required
  • Five (5)+ years of experience providing federal and state tax compliance, accounting and advisory services in a professional services firm
  • Two (2)+ years of supervisory experience mentoring and counseling associates
  • Strong management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, and stay current with applicable strategies and ethical standards
  • Proficiency in software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred
