The Associate Scientist coordinates cell sciences lab operations to lead the production of cell-related intermediates, including hybridoma-derived purified monoclonal antibodies and cell culture products for QC samples.
This role supports troubleshooting and operational capability across the Manufacturing Services team to address root causes and drive actions impacting KPIs. This position reports to the Manufacturing Services Manager and is based on-site in Eugene, Oregon.
- Manage operations for the manufacturing cell culture lab in compliance with safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity targets
- Contribute to the operational capability of the Manufacturing Services team as a technical expert and flex resource across multiple value streams
- Collaborate within the Manufacturing Services team to schedule and plan the week’s work
- Manage cell culture lab equipment maintenance and repair
- Troubleshoot and root cause cell-related process failures and QC-fails
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of industry experience, or equivalent experience in a related field
- Ability to manage priorities and communicate effectively within the team and with outside functional teams
- Positive attitude in challenging situations with an uplifting (yet realistic) outlook on future opportunities
- Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 30 lbs
- Experience with Oracle Fusion or other ERP systems
- Experience managing large data sets in Microsoft Excel
