Green Chain Puller

Performs tasks associated with that of a green chain, clear chain, or sort chain person. Complies with all company safety rules and regulations. Demonstrates the ability to be a part of the production team by communicating and working within the parameters of the production department under the direction of the department supervisor.

• Pulling and sorting of all lumber production on Green Chain, Sort Chain or Clear Chain.
• Ensuring all lumber is pulled into its designated load; according to size, length, and grade. All units need stacked to the correct height and width.
• Making sure stickers are properly located.
• Ensuring the resaw and trim is properly stacked into stable units. Trim unit will need to be banded.
• Work with other pullers as a team to ensure a safe and efficient production flow.
• Help ensure that all employees maintain a safe working environment and safe working habits.
• Know and utilize all lock-out/tag-out procedures associated with your job duties.
• When time allows, carry stickers, straighten loads, band units for forklift and clean up.
• Report any potential machinery defects immediately.
• Report any potential safety risks immediately.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Downtime is clean-up and minor maintenance time.
