SUMMARY:

The Swing Shift Supervisor/Lead oversees evening operations for packaging, maintenance, and cleanup. This position ensures production activities are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently while coordinating with the Dayshift Maintenance Supervisor on ongoing projects and priorities.

• Oversee packaging operations and ensure the packaging station runs efficiently.
• Ensure all production tallies and packaging records are accurate and complete.
• Monitor employee productivity and ensure employees remain engaged in assigned work.
• Confirm that paper wrapping and other packaging tasks are completed properly.
• Supervise the night production shift while the chipper is operating.
• Oversee the maintenance and cleanup departments during swing shift operations.
• Coordinate with the Dayshift Maintenance Supervisor to ensure projects are completed according to schedule.
• Prioritize and communicate critical maintenance, repair, and cleanup needs.’
• Ensure the most important projects and safety-related issues are addressed first.
• Follow up on unfinished projects and provide accurate shift-to-shift communication.
• Ensure all employees follow company safety procedures, protocols, and policies.
• Address unsafe behavior, policy violations, or performance concerns promptly.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Complete required reports, inspections, and shift handoff documentation.
• Support production goals while maintaining quality, safety, and operational standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

• Previous supervisory or lead experience in packaging, manufacturing, maintenance, or production preferred.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during the swing shift.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and company policies.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to operational needs.
• Ability to lead employees and hold team members accountable.

This is a swing shift position and may require flexibility, including overtime, weekends, holidays, or adjusted hours based on production needs.
